Essential Kitchen Appliances and Gadgets

For the gluten and dairy free folk I have a list of things you should have on or near your kitchen counter.

Toss out that toaster, replace it with a tortilla press. It's on my wish list!

Buy a Sev Maker, or a pasta disc extruder. This will allow you to make your own mix for speghetti and make big batches and freeze it, or just fry or boil it then and there, it's not too difficult to clean with a bottle brush. In all honesty, I've used this once though, but it could definitely be handy if you want to make your own pasta.

Spirooli or turning vegetable slicer - This will help you make raw or cooked healthy vegetable speghetti. You can turn any reasonably shaped crunchy (apple, potatoe, etc) dense fruit or vegetable into speghetti. I recommend zucchini for raw speghetti, and apple for a sweet fruit salad. With the 3 attachments you can get a variety of different cuts.

A Blender - I bought a cheap one called an "amazing blender" it is only the size of one serve, but powerful to boot. It can grind rice into a gritty flour if you are desperate. Nuts into flour. Nuts into milk. mufin mixes, fruit into sorbet .... ETC Raw pudding....etc.

Mix Master and Bread Machine - makes bread making easier! (You'll be doing it often enough!)
